Rainy weather with strong winds predicted
December 08, 2022According to the latest forecasts of the Met Department widespread rains and strong winds are predicted over the island. The cyclonic storm “Mandous” over Southwest Bay of Bengal (300km north-east of Trincomalee) is very likely to move west-northwestwards over Southwest Bay of Bengal around mid-night tomorrow (09 Dec), it says.
Cloudy skies will prevail with Intermittent showers or heavy rains in the Northern Province.
Rain is also likely to occur at times in the Sabaragamuwa Province and in Galle, Matara and Trincomalee districts.
Strong winds between 60-70 kmph can be expected at times over the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, Uva & Central provinces
