Local fishermen in distress safely brought ashore
February 03, 2023A navy rescue team safely brought four (04) local fishermen ashore after their fishing trawler had collided with a reef in the eastern seas off Trincomalee.
According to Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) media sources, the fishermen had left the Cod Bay Fisheries Harbour on board the ill-fated fishing trawler (IMUL-A-0048-TLE) last week (Jan 24). The trawler had collided with a reef due to adverse weather.
A rescue team from SLNS Lankapatuna was dispatched after receiving a distress call. Later the fishermen were safely brought ashore.
