Army troops join Point Pedro beach cleaning project
July 03, 2023Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troops together with residents of Point Pedro cleaned the beach area of Sathkotai and Urani recently and removed piles of trash and environmental pollutants.
The mega community project was in progress under the guidelines of Commander, Security Forces Jaffna Major General, S.R.K. Hettiarachchi in collaboration with the Point Pedro Divisional Secretary's office and the Point Pedro Pradeshiya Sabha, the SLA sources stated.
A large number of Army soldiers worked with the Point Pedro Urban Council employees and the village development committees, members of sports clubs, members of Disaster Management Centre, Policemen and school students, the SLA reported.
