Turkish Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call on Sri Lanka’s
Acting Minister of Defence

The Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye, His Excellency Semih Lütfü Turgut, paid a courtesy call on the Acting Minister of Defence of Sri Lanka, Major General Aruna Jayasekera (Retd), at his office in Colombo today (June 13).
During the meeting, the Acting Minister extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Turgut. The two dignitaries engaged in a cordial discussion, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Türkiye.
Both sides emphasized the mutual interest in enhancing cooperation in key areas such as defence collaboration, training opportunities, and maritime security. Ambassador Turgut reiterated Türkiye’s commitment to further fostering the longstanding and friendly relations between the two nations.
Also in attendance was the Defence Attaché of the Embassy of Türkiye in Colombo.
