Defence Secretary Attends Reception in Honour of Diplomatic Corps
February 04, 2026The Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), attended a reception held in honour of the Diplomatic Corps today (04 February) at the Cinnamon Grand hotel in Colombo.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Hon. Vijitha Herath, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The reception provided an opportunity for cordial interaction and the further promotion of diplomatic cooperation.
The event was organised to coincide with Sri Lanka’s 78th Independence Day and to strengthen relations and engagement between Sri Lanka and the diplomatic community based in the country.
