Seva Vanitha 'Avurudu Pola' at the Ministry
April 09, 2019An 'Avurudu Pola' (Festival fair) was held at Ministry premises, today (09th April). Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Mr. Hemasiri Fernando declared open the 'Pola' organized by the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry.
Fresh vegetables and fruits, dry rations, dairy products, processed food products, readymade clothes, foot ware and other items were available for sale at reasonable prices. Tri Forces, Civil Security Department and retired service personnel had also put their products for sale at the 'Pola' as a welfare measure to offer goods at concessionary rates during this Festival season.
Secretary to the State Ministry of Defence Mr. NKGK Nemmewatta, senior Ministry officials, military officers and members of the Ministry staff were also present during at the opening ceremony of the 'Avurudu Pola'.
