New house for civil employee

A civil employee working for the Army in Wanni is the beneficiary of a new house built by the Sri Lanka Army troops under Security Forces - Wanni. According to Army media, the initiative to provide solace to this civil employee, who was facing financial difficulties by providing him a proper housing solution was taken by Army authorities after his situation was brought to their notice.

With financial contributions from private philanthropists, the house was constructed by troops of the 7 (V) Sri Lanka Armoured Corps of the 212 Brigade. The new house is provided with all amenities including electricity, water and other facilities.

The beneficiary family was provided with furniture and other essential household appliances worth over Rs. 50,000.00. In addition, two Army officers had sponsored for a new bicycle for the daughter of the civil employee who was facing difficulties commuting between her school and home.

The house was handed over to the beneficiary family during a brief ceremony graced by Commander Security Forces - Wanni, Major General Kumudu Perera.
