Navy and Coast Guard assist X-PRESS PEARL investigations
June 04, 2021Following a request made by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) transferred an investigation team to the location of ill-fated vessel X-PRESS PEARL, today (4).
The investigation team was transferred to obtain seawater samples, site investigations and also to examine the impact on marine environment due to the ship’s fire, the SLN said.
The Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) Ship ‘Samudraraksha’ also transferred a 14 member investigation team of Government Analyst's Department to the same location for thier investigations, the SLN also revealed.
