Rain falls of 100 mm expected in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces
June 05, 2021The Met. Department issuing a weather forecast today (4) said showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Western and Central provinces and in Galle, Matara, Mannar and Jaffna districts.
Further it also said heavy falls about 100 mm can be expected at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces.
Fairly heavy falls above 50 mm can be expected at some places in North-Western and Central provinces and also the Met. Department said showers or thundershowers may occur in several places elsewhere during the evening/night.
They also requested public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
