Women's Day Message

They have in the past and in the present continue to rub shoulders with their male counterparts to uplift the living standards of fellow Sri Lankans be that in the paddy fields, factories, schools, hospitals or the battlefield. They have etched their contribution in the annals of this blessed land.
It is in this backdrop that we celebrate Women’s Day with a clear commitment towards gender equality and equal opportunity said so the Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne issuing a message on Women’s Day.
