Outgoing Coastguard DG makes farewell call on

The outgoing Director General (DG) of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) Rear Admiral Anura Ekanayake made a farewell call on the Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne at the Defence Ministry in Sri Jayewardenepura, Kotte today (11 Oct).

A cordial discussion was held during the meeting. The Defence Secretary appreciated the services of the outgoing Coast Guard Chief and also wished him good luck in his future endeavours.

Both officials exchanged mementoes to mark the occasion.

Rear Admiral Ekanayake was appointed as the 6th DG of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard on Oct 01, 2020.

Prior to being appointed as the Director General of the SLCG, he was the Director Naval Project and Planning of the Sri Lanka Navy.

He is due to retire tomorrow (Oct 12) after 35 years of Naval career.
