Defence Secretary reviews Ranaviru Seva Authority’s progress

Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne reviewed the progress of Ranaviru Seva Authority (RVSA) during a visit made to the RVSA Head Office in Colombo, today (Oct 28).

RVSA Chairperson Maj. Gen. Nandana Senadeera (Retd) and senior officials warmly received the visiting Defence Secretary at the venue.

Accordingly, the progress made thus far, workflow and plans afoot to enhance RVSA’s functions that would facilitate the needs of disabled and fallen war heroes and their families were reviewed during a discussion held with the RVSA Chairperson and the top management.  

The Defence Secretary also reviewed the actions initiated to accomplish the proposals tabled during the last meeting and also instructed on the areas that need to be refined in order to expedite the process that facilitates the needs of war veterans and their families.

Ensuing the meeting, Gen. Gunaratne also delved into the progress of several sections and divisions of the RVSA.  The RVSA Director Maj. Gen. Kithsiri Ekanayake (Retd) presented a progress report comparing the previous four years and welfare measures being implemented presently including future aspirations.      

RVSA is considered a ‘one-stop-shop’ that provides their services to families of fallen war heroes and disabled military personnel.

RVSA Chairperson Maj. Gen. Senadeera presented a souvenir to the Defence Secretary to symbolize the visit.

RVSA Chairperson Maj. Gen. Nandana Senadeera (Retd), Vice Chairperson Soniya Kottegoda and staffers were present at the occasion.
