Chairperson of the Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU), Mrs. Sonia Kottegoda chaired a press conference held to make public aware of the ‘Udarai Oba’ musical extravaganza aimed at raising funds for the establishment of a Vocational Training Centre (VTC) for Tri Forces, police and Civil Security Department personnel and their family members at the ministry conference hall today (10 September 2019).
Addressing the briefing Chairperson described the importance of the duties which are carried out by the security forces personal and described that this ‘Udarai Oba’ event is being carried out to provide an impetus to uplift the living standards of the War Heroes and their families by the establishment of Vocational Training Centre (VTC) at Boossa,Galle. Further chairperson requested the general public to extend their fullest support to make this event a success by buying tickets to witness this event on 14th of this month (September 2019) at the Nelum Pokuna theatre.
The proposed Vocational Training Centre will provide professional training in Hospitality Management, language and Information Technology. This project is being carried out under a concept of the Chairperson of the MoD SVU, Mrs. Sonia Kottegoda.
Heads of the Tri Forces, Police and Civil Security Department Seva Vanitha Units and representatives from SVUs of the Navy, Police, Civil Security Department, Tri forces spokesmen, MoD SVU members were also present at the occasion.
