SLN removes debris clogged in Gin Ganga, Galle
May 10, 2020Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) cleared debris collected under the Agaliya Bridge, Gin Ganga in Galle yesterday (9) in a bid to prevent potential floods with upcoming torrential rains.
The normal water flow has carried debris which, has got stuck under bridge preventing gravity flow, which may pose a flood threat to the surrounding low lying areas in the region.
SLN has cleaned the clogged area by deploying troops of Southern Naval Command under the directives of Southern Naval Commander Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul.
