SLN removes debris clogged around Wakwella Bridge, Galle
May 19, 2020Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) cleared debris collected under the Wakwella Bridge along Gin Ganga in Galle yesterday (18) in a bid to prevent potential floods due to torrential rains experiencing nowadays.
The routine water flow has carried debris, which have got stuck under bridge, preventing gravity flow, may pose a flood threat to the surrounding low lying areas in the region.
SLN has cleaned the clogged area by deploying troops of Southern Naval Command under the directives of Southern Naval Commander Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul.
