Minor explosion at Vallipuram Police roadblock

A minor explosion has occurred at a Police roadblock Vallipuram, Jaffna 7.15 this morning.
Two Policemen - Sub Inspector and a constable- have received minor injuries.
The Point Pedro Police, which is investigating the incident, said a beer can stuffed with gun powder had exploded while the two Policemen were walking to the road block.
The Police roadblock was set up to prevent illegal sand transportation in the area.
The two Policemen have received treatment at the Manthikai Base hospital.
Point Pedro police is conducting further investigations.
