Met dept warns fishermen on rough seas
June 09, 2020The Meteorology Department requests naval and fishing communities to be vigilant since the deep and shallow seas starting from Balapitiya up to Trincomalee via Colombo and Kankesanthurai, and from Matara up to Batticaloa via Hambantota can be rough occasionally.
Temporarily strong gusty winds up to 70-80 kmph and very rough seas can also be expected during thundershowers.
Marine weather forecast also alerts on rainfalls and thundershowers which may occur in several sea areas from Puttalam to Hambantota along the southern seas.
