Police arrest 1,563 in a 12-hour operation on Saturday
July 19, 2020A total of 1,563 persons have been taken into custody by the Police during a special operation carried out in the Western Province, from 6 a.m to 6 p.m on Saturday (July 18).
According to the Police, among the arrested, 771 persons have been issued with warrants earlier.
In addition, another 792 have been arrested over corruption charges.
Meanwhile, 2,093 persons had been warned over failure to wear face masks and another 968 for not maintaining social distancing in the Western Province.
