Met Dept issues weather warnings to fishermen
July 22, 2020The Meteorology Department requests naval and fishing communities and residents of coastal areas, from Puttalam to Potuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota to be vigilant, since rough seas and likely increase of wind speed (40 to 50 kmph) could be expected during next 24-hours.
Marine weather forecast also alerts on likely surges and high swells waves (2m to 2.5m) at the aforementioned sea areas.
Rainfalls or thundershowers may occur sometimes in the sea areas extending from Negombo to Potuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota, according to the weather report.
