A Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) constructed water project was vested with the students of Mayadunna Vidyalaya in Gonagolla, Ampara signifying the successful termination of the 49th phase of the ‘Guwan Mithudam’ recently (Jan 18).
The SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Chairperson Charmini Pathirana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Air Force said over 200 water-stressed students will benefit from the project which also included the school's buildings being renovated.
During the ceremony organized to hand over the project, a stock of exercise books was also distributed among the school children.
According to the SLAF sources this was sponsored by the Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit and SLAF Station Ampara under the supervision of Commanding Officer SLAF Station Ampara, Group Capt. Nishantha Priyadarashana.
School Principal, teachers and students were also present at the event.
