SLN-built new jetty in Mannar declared open
February 26, 2023Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) constructed a new jetty at the Naval Detachment Vedithalativu in Mannar to further expand operational efficiency of the Navy and declared it open today (Feb 26).
The facility has been a long-felt need of the Navy as there was no secure berthing facility for small craft patrolling in the sea area of Vedithalativu, preventing illegal activities, the SLN sources stated.
North Central Naval Area Commander Rear Admiral Prasad Kariyapperuma, Senior officers and a group of naval personnel of SLNS Buwaneka were present at this occasion.
