KDU's Southern Wing hosts 460th Committee of VCs and Directors meeting
March 05, 2023The Southern Campus of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) situated in Sooriyawewa hosted the 460th meeting of the Committee of Vice Chancellors and Directors (CVCD) yesterday (Mar 04).
Accordingly, 19 Vice Chancellors and Rectors of the state Universities and Campuses were present and they were warmly received by the Rector of the KDU Southern Campus Maj. Gen. Robin Jayasooriya, the KDU sources said.
The KDU said matters related to higher education of Sri Lanka were discussed during the meeting. Following the formal discussion, the Rector of Southern Campus KDU had briefed the CVCD members about the best practices applied within Southern Campus.
KDU also said their Vice Chancellor spoke about the need of establishing a drug-free environment within the universities in order to facilitate a conducive learning atmosphere for the undergraduates.
The Rector, Southern Campus of KDU presented mementoes to all the participants to mark the event, they added.
