A report has been called to find out whether members of the Civil Security Department assigned for duties at places of worship, state and other institutions are involved in other activities.

The State Minister of Defence Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon has directed the Director General of the Civil Security Department Air Vice Marshal Roshan Biyanwila, to investigate and submit a comprehensive report on whether members of the Civil Security Department assigned for maintenance duties at places of worship, agricultural activities, maintenance of elephant fence and certain duties of various institutions are involved in activities outside of their official duties.

Instructions have also been given to review and update relevant orders regarding attachment of Civil Security Department personnel to such institutions. Further, instructions have been given to immediately terminate the service of the personnel who are found guilty of breach in official instructions.
