Army continues carrying out community projects in North

Sri Lanka Army troops of 4 Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) organized a blood donation campaign at its camp premises in Jaffna recently.

128 Army personnel of the 4 SLAMC donated blood to Jaffna Teaching Hospital during the project organized in line with the 16th Anniversary of 4 SLAMC, Army sources stated.

Meanwhile, Mullaittivu Army troops conducted a mobile eye camp at the old 593 Infantry Brigade premises for about 200 civilians of low-income group families and School students in Mullaittivu in coordination with the Eye Surgeon at Vavuniya Hospital Dr Sarveshwaram.

Eye Surgeon at Mullaittivu District Hospital Dr. Nishma Razeek and a medical team from both Mullaittivu and Vavuniya Hospitals served during the project.

The mobile clinic screened deserving patients for cataract surgeries and recommended their admission to the Vavuniya hospital for the surgery on 11 December. A stock of spectacles was distributed among visually impaired civilians following sponsorship given by a donor, the Army Media confirmed.
