Rains in most parts of the country - Met. Department says
December 08, 2023According to the latest weather forecast of the Met. Department issued today (Dec. 08) showers or thundershowers will occur at several places over most provinces of the island after 1.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy showers above 75mm are likely at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western and Uva provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts. A few showers may occur in Northern and Eastern provinces during the morning too.
Misty conditions can be expected in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces during the morning.
A maximum rainfall of 150.6mm was recorded from Girandurukotte.
