Outgoing U.S. Defence Attaché Bids Farewell to Defence Secretary
June 20, 2025The outgoing Defence Attaché (DA) of the United States (US) in Sri Lanka, Lieutenant Colonel Anthony C. Nelson, paid a farewell courtesy call on the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), today (June 20) at the Ministry of Defence.
During the cordial meeting, the Defence Secretary extended his appreciation to Lt Col Nelson for his efforts in strengthening defence relations between Sri Lanka and the US during his tenure. Discussions focused on matters of mutual interest and on-going cooperation in the defence sphere.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a formal exchange of mementoes took place, symbolizing goodwill and the longstanding defence partnership between the two nations.
The Military Liaison Officer of the Ministry of Defence was also present at the occasion.
