Defence Ministry Seva Vanitha Unit Provides Essential Aid to
Military Families and Vulnerable Communities

The Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry of Defence, under the patronage of its Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Ruvini Rasika Perera, extended its continued support to families of war heroes and vulnerable communities through a series of donations held today (Aug. 20) at the Ministry premises.
As part of this initiative, 180 packs of diapers and an artificial limb were donated to the children of two war hero families, reaffirming the Unit’s enduring dedication to the wellbeing of military families.
In addition, 300 white canes were presented to the Sri Lanka Welfare Society of Blind Women – Ja-Ela, offering crucial assistance to visually impaired women to enhance their independence and quality of life.
These humanitarian gestures reflect the Seva Vanitha Unit’s compassionate mission of fostering care and solidarity, while continuing to uplift and empower the families of military personnel and marginalized communities across the nation.
