Army thwarts illegal sand mining in Ella Kantale
March 13, 2021The Sri Lanka Army’s 4 Special Forces (SF) troops under the Security Forces - East apprehended vehicles and tools used for illegal sand mining in the Ella Kantale river, yesterday (Mar 12).
The Army said, the suspects had abandoned their tractors and tools and run away when the troops arrived the scene.
The vehicles and tools were handed over to the Serunuwara Police for further onward actions.
