Army foils counterfeit note racket
May 06, 2021Sri Lanka Army’s 4 Military Intelligence Corps troops under the Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi along with Kilinochchi Police recently apprehended a civilian carrying counterfeit notes worth about Rs. 815,000.00 at Shanthipuram, Kilinochchi.
The Army said the suspect was taken into custody with fake notes during an attempt to purchase some goods from a shop at Shanthipuram using those counterfeits.
Kilinochchi Police are conducting further investigations.
