SLCG and Police foil illegal migration attempt
May 17, 2021The Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) and Police apprehended 30 persons and foiled an illegal migration attempt during a special operation conducted in Samindugama, Chilaw recently.
Among the apprehended individuals were the racketeer who organized the illicit migration and 29 males in their 30s and 40s, the SLCG said.
The nabbed were residents of Jaffna (15), Mullaitivu (07), Batticaloa (06) and one each from Wellawaya and Chilaw, the SLCG also said.
The groups of suspects were handed over to the Chilaw Police for onward legal action.
