Rough seas likely in East-Central Bay of Bengal
May 20, 2021The Met. Department issuing a weather advisory today (May 20) said the formation of low pressure area is very likely over the north Andaman sea and adjoining East-Central Bay of Bengal around May 22.
It said the situation is likely to intensify gradually into a cyclonic storm during the subsequent 72 hours.
Therefore, the Met. Department requests naval and fishing communities not to venture into the East Central Bay of Bengal and neighboring sea areas (13N-20N, 85E-100E) from May 21, until further notice.
Further, fishing and naval communities are also requested to be on alert regarding future weather forecasts.
