Air Force drops dry chemical power sacks
May 26, 2021The Bell 212 helicopters of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has dropped 425 kilos of dry chemical powder sacks onto the distressed ship 'X-PRESS PEARL' this morning to extinguish fire erupted on-board, said the SLAF Spokesperson Group Captain Dushan Wijesinghe today (26).
Group Captain Wijesinghe told defence,lk that the second round of dry chemical powder has also been airlifted to the location.
Sri Lanka Navy yesterday (May 25) managed to rescue all crew members from the burning vessel.
