Army assists Adams Peak religious rituals
June 03, 2021Army troops of 19 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) as practiced in previous years took back the replica of the deity, Sumana Saman statue along with its other venerated paraphernalia from the Sri Pada summit to Nallathanniya Temple in a procession recently marking the end of the pilgrimage season.
State officials and Army officers were also present at the procession conducted amidst blessings of the Maha Sangha, led by Ven Bengamuwe Dhammadinna Nayake Thero.
