Service personnel support to fulfill blood requirement

Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit (SLAFSVU) conducted a blood donation campaign in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Service at the SLAF Base Katunayake yesterday (Aug 5) to cater to the heavy demand for blood during the prevailing pandemic situation in the country.

The campaign was conducted under the guidance of the SLAFSVU Chairperson, Mrs Charmini Pathirana, the SLAF said.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Army troops serving at 11 Division, Training Schools and Units donated blood at Trinity College, Kandy in view of assisting patients in Kandy and Matale Base Hospitals.

The blood donation campaign has been organized by the OBA of Trinity College, Kandy as a tribute to the memory of late Lt. Gen. Dencil Kobbekaduwa, the Army sources said.
