Military donates blood to save lives
August 22, 2021Sri Lanka Army (SLA) and Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) organized blood donation campaigns recently in Jaffna and Hingurakgoda to save lives of people during the prevailing pandemic situation in the country.
A total of 100 SLA troops under the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna joined the blood donation campaign which was organized following a request made by Jaffna Teaching Hospital due to shortage of blood stocks in the Hospital, the Army said.
Meanwhile, the SLAF troops at the Hingurakgoda Base organized the blood donation campaign in collaboration with the Blood Bank of the District General Hospital in Polonnaruwa to cater to its blood demand, the SLAF said.
