Army traces missing woman from forest in Nuwara Eliya
September 11, 2021Sri Lanka Army (SLA) traced a woman who had gone missing on 5 Sep while collecting firewood at Nuwara Eliya Estate, Dunsinan.
She was found on last Thursday evening and was admitted to Nuwara Eliya Hospital for further treatments.
SLA troops joined the combined search operation with Police, Special Task Force and Estate workers in search of the missing aged 25 years.
She was located within the dense jungle whilst gone dehydrated and lying on ground during inclement weather, the SLA said.
The missing woman, a resident of Bambarakele, Aluthkolaniya in Shanthipura, had gone into woods along with her mother to collect firewood and had reported missing afterwards.
Further, investigations are carried out by the Nuwara Eliya Police.
