'Cormorant Strike Xl - 2021’, the annual Field Training Exercise (FTX) organized by the Sri Lanka Army concluded on a successful note in Kuchchaveli, Trincomalee, on Wednesday (Sep 29).
The day’s events saw the final amphibious mock attack capturing simulated hostile bases being staged at the exercise ground with the participation of both local and foreign participants.
The 11th Cormorant Strike FTX commenced on 3rd Sep from Minneriya with 37 foreign military representatives from 5 countries taking part as participants or observers.
A total of 2486 Sri Lankan tri forces personnel took part in the exercise.
The final day’s session was held with the participant of Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva, High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Sri Lanka, His Excellency Tareq Md Ariful Islam, High Commissioner of Maldives in Sri Lanka, His Excellency Omar Abdul Razzak, Defence Attachés and senior tri service officers.
