Army troops avert tank bund split of Ariyankulam tank
December 04, 2021Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troops arriving at the Ariyankulam tank in Nochchikulama strengthened the eroded tank bund recently.
The timely intervention of troops averted likely flood threats to regional low-lying areas.
According to the SLA sources, the General Officer Commanding of the 56 Division Maj. Gen. Laksiri Perera had instructed the troops to attend the repairs.
Villagers in the Nochchikulam area also supported the SLA troops engaged in the restoration of the damaged tank bund, the Army said.
