Army’s new Chief of Staff appointed
December 07, 2021President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed Maj. Gen. Vikum Liyanage as the 59th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army with effect from today (Dec 07).
Maj. Gen. Liyanage, a proud product of Matale Vijaya College is an Officer of elite Gajaba Regiment and was the Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.
He succeeds Maj. Gen. Priyantha Perera who just retired from the service, the Army said.
