Navy apprehended Crystal Methamphetamine in Mannar
February 05, 2022Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) during an operation conducted at Erukkalampiddi, Mannar yesterday (Feb 04) with the assistance of Mannar Police nabbed about 01kg and 76g Methamphetamine (ICE) of more than Rs. 08 million street value.
A group of naval personnel attached to SLNS Gajaba in the North Central Naval Command conducted the operation and apprehended three suspects, a motorbike and a three-wheeler, the SLN sources said.
The drugs, vehicles and the suspects who were identified as residents of Mannar and Pesalai, from 21 to 39 years of age, were handed over to the Mannar Police for onward legal proceedings, the SLN confirmed.
