Navy donates blood to Vavuniya District General Hospital
April 29, 2022Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) organized a blood donation campaign and donated blood to the Vavuniya District General Hospital yesterday (28).
The SLN’s North Central Naval Command, continuing its social responsibility initiatives organized the programme at the Command Hospital following the directives of Navy Commander Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne to help replenish the blood supplies at the Vavuniya District General Hospital, the SLN said.
Accordingly, a large number of sailors attached to nearest naval establishments of the North Central Naval Command voluntarily participated and donated the blood making this magnanimous effort a success.
The event was also assisted by the SLN’s medical staff and healthcare staff of the Vavuniya Hospital, the news added.
