Gen. Kamal Gunaratne reappointed as Defence Secretary
May 11, 2022The President Gotabaya Rajapakse, with powers vested on him has reappointed secretaries to several ministries effective from Tuesday (10 May).
Secretaries to the Ministries of Defence, Public Security and Finance were reappointed to maintain normalcy and continuation of ordinary lives of the people.
Accordingly the following officers have been reappointed as ministry secretaries,
• Ministry of Defence - General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd)
• Ministry of Public Security - Major General Jagath Alwis (Retd)
• Ministry of Finance - K.M. Mahinda Siriwardane
Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne also confirmed his appointment during a press briefing held at the Defence Ministry today (11 May).
