Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne reviewed disaster preparedness and advanced plans of the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) while arriving at the DMC in Vidya Mawatha, Colombo today (Jun 3).
Gen. Gunaratne reviewed current administration, resources, performances, systematic disaster recovery arrangements and their plans for the future during his visit.
The lengthy discussion he had with the DMC staffers also included disaster prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery in order to prepare for disasters and to save countless lives in an emergency.
DMC is one of the key organizations functioning under the purview of the Defence Ministry.
