SL Navy wins medals at the 8th Carrom World Championship
October 11, 2022Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) Able Seaman Nishantha Fernando and Woman Able Seaman Joseph Roshita won silver and bronze medals respectively at the 08th Carrom World Championship -2022, organized by International Carrom Federation (ICF) in Langkawi, Malaysia, recently.
Carrom players from 18 countries participated in the Championship where Sri Lanka men’s team also won the second runner-up position in men’s doubles, the SLN said.
Further, Able Seaman Fernando won the trophy for the ‘Highest Number of Slams’ (11 slams).
Sri Lanka women’s team that includes Woman Able Seaman Roshita also became the second runner up in the 08th Carrom World Championship 2022, the SLN also stated.
