Chinese Embassy supports Navy’s Green and Blue concept

China has gifted 50 bicycles and 03 electric buggies to the Sri Lanka Navy supporting the Navy’s Green and Blue environment concept. The donation was made at a ceremony held at the Navy Headquarters, today (10 December).
The Deputy Military Naval and Air Attaché of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka, Lieutenant Colonel Chang Qianjin handed over the bicycles and buggies to Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva during the ceremony.
The Navy intends to use these bicycles and electric vehicles at the Naval Dockyard in Trincomalee. The Naval Dockyard was declared as a Domain of Green and Blue under the aptly named ‘Neela Haritha Sangramaya’ concept of the Navy with a view to protect and conserve the environment.
