Navy’s EOD & CBRNE Experts Hone Tactics in Trincomalee
May 05, 2025A total of 24 personnel from the Sri Lanka Navy’s Special Boat Squadron (SBS) and three members from the United States Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) participated in a specialized training program on Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (EOD & CBRNE). The program was designed to enhance operational capabilities and promote knowledge sharing in EOD and CBRNE response techniques, Navy media says.
Course 01/2025 was successfully conducted from April 21 to May 01, 2025, at the SBS Headquarters in Trincomalee. The certificate awarding ceremony was held under the patronage of the Deputy Area Commander of the Eastern Naval Area.
The training emphasized essential skills required to detect, assess and neutralize hazardous threats, thereby ensuring readiness to address complex security scenarios, it further says.
