7th International Defence Attachés Course Concludes Successfully
May 22, 2025The 7th International Defence Attachés Course concluded on a high note with a distinguished closing ceremony held yesterday (May 21) at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) auditorium. The event was graced by the Swiss Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Her Excellency Dr. Siri Walt, who attended as the Chief Guest.
Organised by the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) in partnership with the Ministry of Defence Sri Lanka, the week-long course commenced on May 14 and brought together defence professionals and diplomatic personnel from over 35 countries, creating a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange and strategic collaboration.
During the closing ceremony, participants were formally awarded certificates of completion by Ambassador Walt, symbolising their successful engagement with the programme. She was joined by Brigadier Pradeep Rathnayake, Deputy Vice Chancellor of KDU and Colonel (GS) Dr. Laurent Currit, Head of Defence and Diplomacy and the Course Director, in presenting the certificates.
The event was attended by a distinguished gathering, including foreign coordinators, senior representatives from Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Employment and Tourism, Ministry of Defence and senior Tri-Force officers.
