The programme, held under the guidance of the Chairperson of the SVU, Dr. (Mrs) Ruvini Rasika Perera, in view of World Blood Donor Day, commenced at the Ministry premises this morning.

Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) was also present at the occasion.

The event drew the enthusiastic participation of a large number of MOD staff members, including both military personnel and civilian employees.

Medical assistance for the campaign was provided by a dedicated team from the University Hospital of Kotelawala Defence University (UHKDU), ensuring the smooth and safe conduct of the initiative.

The successful turnout reflects the continued commitment of MOD personnel to civic duty and humanitarian service, showcasing the Ministry’s broader efforts to support national health and welfare through voluntary contributions.
