Deputy Minister of Defence Graces IPSC Nationals 2025 Awarding Ceremony

Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), attended the awarding ceremony of the Sri Lanka International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) and Handgun Level III Nationals – 2025 as the Chief Guest. He was warmly welcomed by the President of the National Rifle Association of Sri Lanka (NRASL), Air Vice Marshal Ruwan Chandima. The prestigious event took place at the Wave’n Lake Navy Banquet Hall, Welisara, on Sunday (June 22).

The IPSC Nationals, held from June 18 to 22, drew the participation of 270 competitors representing 16 entities, including the tri forces, underscoring the event’s growing prominence in the national sporting calendar.

The formal proceedings of the ceremony commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest, followed by the traditional lighting of the oil lamp and a welcome speech by the President of NRASL. The prize distribution took place in two phases, with the Chief Guest personally awarding accolades to twelve top recipients during the second phase.

Match Director Rear Admiral Manjula Disanayake, Chairman of the Attribution Committee Major General Kenneth Edema (Retd), Regional Director of IPSC Sri Lanka Menaka Liyanage, Secretary Ijaz Meezan and Treasurer Denzil Kao also were present at the occasion.
