Progress Review Conference Held on SLAF Hospital Construction

A high-level progress review conference was held today (Jul 08), chaired by the Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) at the Ministry of Defence (MOD). The meeting focused on the ongoing construction of the Sri Lanka Air Force Hospital at Narahenpita, a flagship healthcare initiative aimed at enhancing medical services for SLAF personnel and their families.

The session was attended by Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, along with senior SLAF officers and key representatives from multiple government bodies. These included the Ministry of Urban Development, Construction and Housing, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation, Department of Agriculture and National Food Promotion Board.

Discussions centered on infrastructure progress, inter-agency coordination and strategies to ensure timely completion of the hospital complex. The Defence Secretary emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to deliver a state-of-the-art facility that will serve both active and retired Air Force personnel, as well as their families.
